We have a great opportunity to join an existing project based at Offshoots, a community garden located in Towneley Park in Burnley. The Project Officer will be working with the wider project team, to help maintain and develop appropriate links within the local community, and work with volunteers and groups on the Offshoots site.
Offshoots is located within the walled garden of Towneley Park and is a community garden and educational project. We strive to engage visitors in thought and action on sustainable lifestyles using Permaculture principles within our key activities of horticulture, beekeeping and green woodwork.
We work with a number of audiences which involve people of all ages and all backgrounds. It’s really important to us that people involved in our projects represent the communities the projects are based in.
This role would be ideal for someone who is interested in sustainability and would like to be involved in work which stimulates interest in this subject and involves the communities surrounding Offshoots in the Offshoots site.
The role is a part of the sustainable communities department within Newground CIC. Newground is an exciting community interest company working across the North of the UK and a part of the Together Housing Group. Newground have been delivering social change within communities in the north of England for around 30 years and has a strong history in environmental and community based projects.

You will be expected to oversee the effective delivery of services and work with the wider sustainable communities team assisting in the design, planning, funding and implementation of other projects and programs of environmental and sustainability activities.
