One stop shop for flood advice in North West, The Flood Hub, launches
Newground has launched a website to help householders, businesses, communities and landowners in the North West manage flood risk and become more flood resilient.
Funded by the North West Regional Flood and Coastal Committee, the Flood Hub is a joint initiative developed by the Flood Team at Newground, Environment Agency, United Utilities, and Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire Strategic Flood Partnerships.
The site will feature an interactive map giving information about flood schemes, community groups and events across the region and downloadable resources to increase knowledge and awareness of flooding. There will also be a dedicated page to report flood incidents to the necessary agencies and authorities.
Christina Worsley, Lead Consultant for the Flood Team, said: ‘It’s been an interesting and challenging journey developing the Flood Hub. The team has worked extremely hard designing the site structure, developing the content, sourcing the images and working with our partners to get it approved. We’re all very proud of the end product.
“We think the Flood Hub will be a valuable resource and we’re committed to continually updating the site to ensure we’re supporting communities at risk of flooding across the North West.”
