Supporting our communities to manage flood and coastal risk
The Flood Hub is a one stop shop for all things flood related for individuals, businesses and communities across the North West. The website has been funded by the North West Regional Flood and Coastal Committee (RFCC) and is a joint partner initiative developed by the Environment Agency, United Utilities, us here at Newground, and the Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire Strategic Flood Partnerships.
This online resource has an abundance of information and resources to help anyone interested in becoming more flood resilient. With areas of the website dedicated to householders, businesses, communities and landowners, there is advice available to everyone for all things flood related. The Flood Hub also contains a Knowledge Hub of resources available to download, and a 'Your Local Area' page containing information specific to flood risk management across the North West. There is also an interactive map that can be explored to find details of community groups, flood schemes and events happening in your area.
The flood team at Newground have been heavily involved in designing, developing and producing content for the Flood Hub. We have worked closely with the website developers to style the content, create resources and develop other features such as the interactive map.
We have worked with the partners to develop the structure of content for the website in order to make it suitable for the target audience - individuals, communities and businesses across the North West.
We will continue to maintain and develop the Flood Hub website, which will involve updating the content and producing new resources.
