Are you looking to get into work in the Calderdale, Kirklees or Wakefield area?

Works Better are not like other ‘into-work’ programmes. We help people who want to get into work overcome the barriers that are stopping them. At the same time we support employers with suitable vacancies to access this source of potential employees.

By bringing the two together we show that Works Better!

Our job is to get you ‘work ready’ and that will mean something slightly different for everyone we help. We all have barriers that stop us doing things – and in the case of getting a job it could be childcare issues, low confidence, or a lack of basic IT skills. Our experienced team will create a unique programme for you that maximise your potential and get you back into work.

As well as helping you, we also have an Works Better Jobs Team who are working with local businesses and sourcing vacancies for people returning to work. Not every job is suitable, we look to work with employers who see the benefit of employing someone returning to work. Works Better runs across Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield which means that we have lots of people and vacancies to bring together.

The Works Better team will also work with local employers to identify suitable vacancies and support them to recruit individuals who are looking to get into work.
We understand that not all vacancies are suitable, but we would welcome the opportunity to discuss your recruitment needs and identify opportunities where we can help.
If you would like to discuss potential vacancies or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Works Better by email at works.better@kirklees.gov.uk or by telephone 01484 221000 (ask for Works Better).
