Flood Engagement Officer

Location: Blackburn

Salary: £16,419 –  £20,183 pa

Benefits: 27 days holiday +8 bank holidays, contributory pension scheme,  health care package

Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week, Fixed term contract to 31st March 2019

 

The Role

 

This post will be joining a dedicated Flood team working to deliver a flood resilience programme through direct approaches and in liaison with partner agencies such as Local Authorities, Town and Parish Councils, the Environment Agency, County Councils and United Utilities.

The role is to give support to the Flood Advisors working on the project across local communities and businesses in the North West + Cumbria area in order to assist them to become flood resilient and to support the development of a regional flood website.

Educated to degree level in an appropriate subject with a flexible approach to working hours in order to achieve the work demands/priorities and an ability to work with minimal supervision are essential attributes for the post.  The successful applicant will also be a car owner or have access to a vehicle with a full UK driving licence and have the ability to undertake travel across the North West.
