The role

Newground has been delivering social change within communities in the north of England for around 30 years.  We are the lead delivery partner for the Works Better European funded programme in Calderdale and are looking to add a new administration assistant role to our recently established team in Calderdale.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion to make a difference to people’s lives. We are looking for a candidate able to provide administrative  support to a small  team that is assisting people seeking employment.   A key part of this work is the ability to gather and record accurate information about activities delivered by the team and to maintain an accurate audit trail.

Works Better

Works Better is part funded through the European Social Fund and delivered through a collaboration of six partners (Kirklees Council, Fusion Housing and Paddock Community Trust, Calderdale Council, Newground, Wakefield Council and Groundwork) across Kirklees, Calderdale and Wakefield to address the barriers faced by all age groups seeking employment , irrespective of background and personal circumstance.  Offering a tailored support package Works Better supports residents to help them secure sustained employment.

The project is part financed by the European Social Fund 2014-2020 programme and will receive up to £2,875,709 of funding from the European Social fund (ESF) as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth programme in England.  The Department of Work and Pensions is the Managing Authority for the England ESF Programme.

Why choose to work for Newground?

We believe in the power of social enterprise as a strategy for change. Through our social enterprise model, we deliver professional services in a competitive marketplace. But there’s one key difference between Newground and our private sector competitors. Instead of our profits going to shareholders, they are instead gift aided into our Newground Together and distributed in the form of grants to environmental and community projects. By choosing to be a part of the Newground team, you will help to drive positive social and environmental impact.
